ükya trio works in the field of improvised and open form music. Their own combination of rasping brass, stretched strings and singing bronze make way for an idiosyncratic expression within the expressive improv scene.

The musicians has been a regular fixture in the norwegian jazz and avant-garde scene, playing concerts around Norway and among others worked with the Paal Nilseen-Love XL-unit, Gneist with Frode Gjerstad and many others.

Eccentric, punk and with an antivirtous approach to music, the band reflects on Korean traditional music, just intonation, european art music, jazz and british improvisational music. This results in a contemporary reflection of free form, rigorous organization of sound and lyrical blow.

Their debut album, "We Come For An Experience Of Presence" is due to be released in 2024.
